The folloing rant was sent to me to discredit Waltons character. I present it unedited. I didn't write this.
"Let those without sin cast the first stone" JC.
The Accusation:
"Ok all of you alien freaks I hate to ruin your dreams but here is the truth about Travis Walton, I am from Snowflake Az ( which is were Travis Walton is from) and I gradated with his oldest child ( who's name is Clifton and his cousin Donavan graduated in are same class, just trying to prove my point that I did, it was the class of 1996) my great uncle is Sank Flake who was the county Sheriff at the time of the abduction, Travis Walton and Mike Rogers worked together for a couple of years in the white Mountains cutting lumber down for the paper mills, IT IS COMMON KNOWLEDGE TO ALL RESIDANTS OF YOUNG ARIZONA WHICH IS WHERE TRAVIS WAS APPERANTLY ABDUCTED THAT THE AIR FORCE DID ALOT OF TEST MANUVERS THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS FOR TRAINING, for us who have been camping in the white mountains for most of are lives, on a rare occasion the forest ranger will come and say to campers that there will be helicopters and other stuff flying through the air during the night please do not be alarmed and if you get spot lighted it will only be for a second, here is my point, Mike and Travis were way behind on contracts so they hired a few extra hands, which took them over there budget, one of them was a well known acid freak from Concho Az which is about 5 miles outside of Snowflake, ( his name is Dallas) my uncle arrested Dallas on drug charges he was on bail when he was hired by Mike Rogers to work, THE DAY THAT TRAVIS WALTON WAS ABDUCTED IS THE SAME DAY THAT THE AIRFORCE WAS DOING TRAINING IN THE WHITE MOUNTAINS, yes Travis got out of the truck and looked up in the sky at the weird lights that were above him and yes a spot light came all around him, and Mike Rogers drove off and left him and the spot light came on the truck which scared all the men in the truck, the spot light was only on them for a second, Mike drove to the diner which was twelve miles down the road called the red robin inn diner, MIKE WAS THE ONLY PERSON WHO WENT BACK TO PICK-UP TRAVIS FROM THE SPOT WHERE HE FOUND TRAVIS WHO WAS PASSED OUT FROM DRINKING AFTER THEY GOT DONE WITH WORK THAT DAY,they were going to lose there contracts in a couple days which was going to bankrup Travis and Mikes business. The guys who stayed at the diner told all the patrons that they saw weird lights and it chased them and they said that Travis got out and what had happened, all those guys had friends come pick them up at the diner except one, Dallas, Dallas started to hitch hike down the road and was picked up by one Mike Rogers, Dallas had told Mike what all the guys were saying in the inn and that the patrons were asking alot about the lights around the truck and around Travis, they told the patrons that they were being attacked by UFO'S, TRAVIS WALTON WAS AT DALLAS'S HOUSE IN CONCHO ARIZONA FOR FIVE DAYS GETTING HIGH OFF HIS ASS, Travis Walton will tell you in his book " The Walton Expirience " that he passed a lie ditector test twice and so did all of his co-workers, what he doesn't say in there are the questions that were asked to him and his co-workers, my uncle saw the questions that were being asked, like did you see lights in the sky, did a light come upon you, did a light follow you in the truck, those are the questions that were aske to Travis Walton and his co-workers so he wasn't lying about what he was saying, something else Travis Walton does not tell you in his book is how Dallas was sent to jail 1 month after the apperent abduction for three years for failing a drug test and selling drugs, and he also fails to mention how the lumber contracts were payed off and new contracts were made, Hmmm ironic, now alot you may say how do I know that Travis walton was at Dallas house, I dont know, but when Travis was found in Heber Az and after he got out of the hospital his sister and Mike and his wife were riding in the police car with my Uncle they were going to pick up Dallas to go to the town hall in snowflake to talk with all these people my Uncle asked Travis if he new where Dallas lived in Concho, Travis said no, as they were turning on the road to Dallas house my uncle accidentally turned down the wrong road, and Travis told him that he needed to actually turn down the next road, my uncle said I thought you didn't know where he lived, and Travis response was that he had heard Dallas telling Mike how to get to his house, wow if I got abducted by aliens and there was alot of attention on me at that time in my life I just dont know if I could tell you an exact road to go on if I had never been there before and I heard it in second conversation. And here is my proof about the whole thing, when my Uncle Sank was retired he told my Uncles and my dad that they new Travis was in Concho after the fact but there was alot of man power spent on trying to find him for the week he was gone and there was alot of money being brought into the community about the whole ordeal so they just let it be, and Travis has made alot of money on his ordeal, but trust me people his Family went through hell from critism from the town folk and his poor son Clifton was made fun of ruthlessly throughtout school, which I new clifton and I liked him, but he new who my uncle was and my uncle was actually the James Gardner person in the movie, and my uncle always was critical of Travis, so I could tell clifton didnt like my uncle. But I apologize for the post being so long it was the only way I could say everything, and yes everybody in Snowflake will tell you the exact same story I said, that is why Travis never does interviews in Snowflake he does not want the reporters to ask questions to anybody who was around at that time, so go ahead and start attacking my claim and I promise I will give you an answer to every question.
P.S. Sorry Clifton"
The written accusation above came to me via a YouTube presentation "Travis Walton at the International UFO Congress" 2010 I put up. The statements above are nothing but a rehash of accusations leveled at Walton for a number of years. To prove this I refer to a two part post I published in April 2007 "Travis Walton: The Hoax That wasn't ", and I quote:
"Debunkers' Concerns:
1. The young man, Travis Walton, had a expunged record (burglary) so Mr. No Klass mentioned the record in his book, but didn't mention how he came by this fact. Of course, this should have been a plus to Walton's character, since he did get the conviction wiped off the record by doing what was right, but Klass didn't represent it that way in the book. Travis had revealed his youthful offence in the primary examination after the UFO incident.
2. Mr. Klass had valid data which indicated that certain information had been withheld intentionally by APRO (Aerial Phenomena Research Organization) which was based in Tucson, Arizona. (Travis Watson failed his first polygraph test administered by an expert with 10 years experience, hired by APRO).
3. Travis took a second Polygraph test (two months later) and he passed, but Klass pointed out the examiners only had 2 years experience and was instructed what questions to ask.
4. The motive given for the hoax by the debunkers and others is: Mike Rogers, owner of the business for nine years," had grossly underestimated the magnitude of the job and could not complete it on time" This would result in payment held up till spring unless he could prove an act of God –which this was.
Also about the area:
"By the way, just a note, under the freedom of information act documents were de-classified to indicate activity by UFOs in and around the areas at that time:
"DOD, USAF, and CIA document reveal that during October, November, and December of 1975, reliable military personnel repeatedly sighted unconventional aerial objects in the vicinity of nuclear-weapons storage areas, aircraft alert areas and nuclear-missile control facilities at Loring Air Force Base, Maine; Wurtsmith AFB Michigan; Malstrom AFB, Montana; Minot AFB, North Dakota…"

I know this person once to believe his uncle but the idea of helicopters and jet maneuvers being mistaken for what Seven witnesses testified about is ridicules. We all know that police do not like to be wrong and they will many times continue to peruse their first line of thinking on a case right or wrong. The truth is how many cops would believe someone who has committed a crime about something like this. The other accusation his great uncle makes is not news at all, it is the same accusations we've had from the beginning. But think about this if it was a hoax? Walton had to had to have planned it when he was hit by the "beam". When that "spotlight" hit him he acted as if he was knocked back and unconscious. So what are we to think… Travis Walton is the Robert De Nero of UFO land…wow what adlibbing? It was also very nice that the "helicopter" cooperated in this hoax by shining a spotlight in front of the other witnesses.
Travis Walton was convicted of burglary when he was younger many. I wouldn't expect the townspeople to put much trust in Travis Walton. He was a trouble make, however he had his record expunged before this, and that is never mentioned.. You can't attack the evidence by attacking the character. The National Inquirer was there and here is Jeff Wales the reporter from the inquirer described the meeting their first meeting with Travis:
"Jeff Wales, upon seeing Travis's brother for the first time reported "The cowboy (Travis Watson's brother Duane) was no disappointment. He was one of the meanest and toughest-looking men I've ever seen - in his late twenties, a rodeo professional and amateur light-heavyweight fighter, a total abstainer, broad-shouldered, T-shirt packed with muscle, chiseled-down hips, bow legged, eyes full of nails, tense, unpredictable."
"Nobody is going to laugh at my brother," he told Wales.Wales replied… "we would hide them away and pay the kid a grand to tell his story"
"To our relief the cowboy agreed - but not, he said, because of the money, because his brother had a true story to tell which would enlighten the world".
"Our first sight of the kid (Travis) was at dinner in the hotel dining room that night. It was a shock. He sat there mute, pale, twitching like a cornered animal. He was either a brilliant actor or he was in serious funk about something".
Polygraph Test:
Question: What would happen to a person emotionally who had actually been taken aboard a ship by horrible looking aliens?
"The "National Inquirer", investigated the story, found Travis to be so upset it necessitated flying in a husband-and-wife team of psychiatrists from Colorado to tranquilize the kid (Travis) and keep the cowboy (his brother) from exploding.
Jeff Wells reported "The kid was a wreck and it was all the psychiatrist could do to get him ready for the lie-detector expert we had lined up.
The test lasted an hour and I was in the next room fending off the TV crew when I heard the cowboy scream: "I'll kill the son of a bitch!"
"The kid had failed the test miserably. The polygraph man said it was the plainest case of lying he'd seen in 20 years but the office (The National Enquirer) was yelling for another expert and a different result.
To head that off we had the psychiatrist put the cowboy and the kid through a long session of analysis.
Their methods were unique. The next day the four of them disappeared into a room and soon a waiter was headed there with two bottles of cognac.
At the end of it the psychiatrists were rolling drunk but they had their story and the brothers were crestfallen.
It seemed that the kid's father, who had deserted them as a child, had been a spaceship fanatic and all his life the kid had wanted to ride in a spacecraft.
He had seen something out there in the woods, some kind of an eerie light which had triggered a powerful hallucination which might recur at any time. There was no question of any kidnap by any mushroom men."
Travis Walton told a story of strange unemotional beings nothing like what his father and family believed. Would you take someone who this happen to him and get a great polygraph test while they were still in shock? "
And what of the final skeptics test:
"The following report on the final polygraph examination of Travis Walton, Mike Rogers and Allan was actually sponsored by a skeptic, Jerry Black. The test was performed with the latest state of the art equipment, by Cy Gilson, the most highly respected polygraph expert".
The relevant questions asked during the polygraph test, and the answers given, are reproduced here:
http://www.ufocasebook.com/walton_gilson.html
A comment by the Cy Gilson examiner niece:
Cy Gilson was my uncle, and his professionalism and his skill as a polygraph expert are perhaps unmatched amongst his peers in the field of polygraphy as a forensic tool.
we discussed this Travis Walton and crew test, and back then, Cy told me that he was more or less forced to rethink the "humans are the sole form of intelligent life in the universe" concept, something most Catholics cannot handle admitting too very readily or freely.
I support his conclusion that the men told the truth, and I think that the absurdity of assuming 'human' life is the only 'intelligent life' in the Universe, speaks for itself.
It wouldn't surprise me if life elsewhere has since marked the Earth a; "no visit zone, no intelligent life there" based on the insipid propensity for humans to kill everything they cannot understand or comprehend.
The evidence of who Travis Walton is confronts the skeptics even now his continuing life after this incident. without any crime since is a testament to how powerful this experience can be.

For some reason I find it hard to believe or take seriously something that starts out by calling people "alien freaks."
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteOk, here's my heresay -- a man that was the best man for my first marriage also lived in Snowflake at the time and for LONG afterwards. That person, my buddy, was also a very knownn person in that area - indeed, back in the early internet days you could literally google the term `visionary' and my buddy's name was on the front page of google.(Do to his work as a go-between for the Hopi Indians and another tribe.)
Regardless of all that - my buddy is a man of TRUST in the community - knew Travis (SNOWFLAKE was very small) and knew him to be truthful. Also, over the years I've asked him on more than one occasion to tell me if he `other' crappola about the whole stated experience - his answer - NO.
I'll leave it at that as to who I'd trust - some kid trying to carve out the tiniest of 15 minutes of fame on the internet with a STORY - or - my buddy of over 45 years - I think you know my answer.

Dear Rick,
ReplyDeleteGreat story it's hard for me to imagine the Travis Walton I met as being this sleazy hoaxer. My friend had dinner with him and called me to tell me what a great guy he was.
Thanks Rick for putting this up on the web I think Travis deserves this type of support.

For my part? I can't be bothered by flaccid klasskurtxians who won't be interrupted in their turgid, cowardly, and unimaginative debunkery long enough to hit the return key for a freakin' new paragraph, eh?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the deconstruction of same Joe.
Dear Alfred,
ReplyDeleteI guess u would call it a "stream of viciousness".
Thanks
Joe

...Stream of crapulousness? [g].
ReplyDeleteTravis' father supposidly being into "spaceships" actually fits the pattern that we see of familial close encounters/experiencers.
ReplyDeleteAnd the police should have checked Dallas' home during the days Travis was missing. It all sounds like sour grapes to me -- shoddy police investigative work, locals who don't like someone (usually for very local reasons)....after all when we look back on the Salem Witch Trials, it was neighbor against neighbor. Unfortunately, not much has changed but thankfully we have laws in place to protect us from peoples negative opinions.
This is possibly the worst (and most inarticulate) attempt at debunkery I have ever read.
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of this adolescent kid that I ran into at Roswell who basically said "all the alien s**t is a buncha crap...and everybody here knows it". Decades of research, hundreds of reasonably credible witnesses, (one of whom I knew long distance from a day job I held), and some snot-nosed illiterate brat negates it without anything resembling a coherent thought and no backup. Whatever.
All of which would not be an issue if people would just consider the source, use their judgement, and not give people like this the time of day until they can back up what they are saying and present it with some degree of intelligence.
The internet has really caused a cultural crescendo of abject stupidity: any idiot with an opinion and an ego can have a platform where people just slightly less evolved then them will give them credibility.
I hate to sound like a cranky old man, but "back in the day"...before being able to code html or make a YouTube video or a frigging podcast gave you instant credibility, this would have been wadded up and thrown into the roundfile without a second thought.
This kid wants to discredit Walton? Great. Let's see some signed statements from the officials involved at the time...and maybe some lie detector tests to reinforce those statements. Otherwise this is just an exercise in pathos and does not merit any consideration whatsoever.
You used "then" instead of "than" in the fourth paragraph.
DeleteGood catch
DeleteI recently moved to Arizona and bought a house. The customer service representative for the builder is from Snowflake. He says that he knows the Waltons and Mike Rodgers. He said they used to sub for his PE class. He also said that these people were very genuine "salt of the earth" type of people. Especially Mike Rodgers would never kid around, very serious and honest. He says he and everyone he knows in the area believe their story.
ReplyDeleteDear JL,
ReplyDeleteI think you would be right if we were only preaching to the choir...but were not. There are a great deal of people out there who sees and believes this stuff. I believe I will answer whatever I can for the sake of the witnesses who have came forward. That is the main reason for this blog and why it is non-Commercial.
But believe me I get your point.

I think some people may be envious of Walton that is always a possibility. I agree with you about Polygraphing certain individuals on the other side of the coin. In a past post I called on UFO researcher to demand in the future when these characters come forward to polygraph them. A prime example is the two who came out claiming they were the cause of Brentwaters. One claiming he drove a police car as a hoax and caused the UFO the other claimed he burnt trash. Also another case which is not related to UFOs. That the character who came out and said he was Bigfoot in the Patterson film. Why wasn't he polygraphed immediately. If we put some of out best witnesses through the ordeal of a polygraph them then we should demand the same when the debunkers present out one of these characters as a solution.
Thanks

Lol, that was pretty sorry. I was expecting that since the guy is from Snowflake he would be claiming inside knowledge, that the Walton family confessed to him it was a hoax or something like that. But instead it's just a bunch of hypothesizing that people like Phil Klass touched on years ago. And it's kind of hard to take the guy seriously when he starts his rant off with, "OK all of you alien freaks", can't spell, and apparently doesn't know what a period is.

I just read Billy Cox on the latest semi-literate L.A Times article, and then watched the equally semi-literate video from a Thunk Tank that was in his blog. I just read the latest MUFON Journal, and the abduction article was barely above the level of The National Enquirer. Perry White explodes, "Great Cesar's Ghost....Where's Kent?"

Dear spiraldance,
ReplyDeleteThis is what I love about the internet. Learning more and more about the perosn through the interaction of people. All the ranting on earth will not hide the truth, and the truth is, the Travis Walton they see, are not the real Travis Walton but he is seen through the eyes of a agenda based on expediency and a rigid belief system. I know some say ignor these people and some I do. I don't pretend that some of them do influence others that may have been open minded. Reducing the value of people through their imperfect humanity when they have changed is a low blow at a UFO witnesses so UFO Media Matters took issue with it.

It should be somewhat troubling that Sank Flake was never the "county sheriff," a rather large error for his supposed nephew to make. Flake was the police chief in the then-tiny Town of Snowflake for many years. Marlin Gillespie was the Navajo County Sheriff at the time. I was living in Heber when the Walton incident occurred, and my father-in-law was in the same business as Walton and Rogers. He also speculated that the incident was invented because Walton and Rogers were having problems with their Forest Service contracts, but this was pure baseless speculation. I've been the legal advisor to the Navajo County Sheriff's Office for the past 13 years and have not heard anything "incriminating" about Walton.
ReplyDeleteDear Lancebp,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for helping us to get the full picture of what happened. I wonder now if this Walton hater was even telling the truth, and if not why all this bother? I wish I could get in touch with Clifton who he apologies to, but I think Clifton has enough of the limelight.
This is why the internet is so important a man who didn't do anything wrong has been victimized twice, once by who ever took him, and twice by those who were suppose to protect him.

I had the pleasure of hearing Travis Walton speak just a week ago tonight, and I found him and the story of his UFO experience totally credible. He didn't make up facts; if someone asked him something he didn't remember, then he said so. That's not the behavior of someone who wants to make up a "fantastic tale" for public consumption. Until someone proves otherwise, I will remain 100% behind his account of those events so many years ago.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI had a friend who went to dinner with him and said he was a down to earth humble person. A far cry from what is described this local resident. Some police are well know for holding on to a theory even though it doesn't make sense anymore. Walton and 6 other guys some who didn't like each other holding on to a hoax for all these years doesn't make sense. I learned over the years the only side that has to make sense is the side supporting the UFO report. The other side can say what they like and they get away with it in the mainstream media and with debunkers.

Thank you all for your support. I commend you for seeing "sheriff's nephew" is a fake. He isn't the first to try for such attention. Even persons taking a supportive position sometimes claim to be a close school chum, girlfriend or coworker. One supporter claimed to attend the homecoming party after my return -- except that party was movie fiction. Another bragged in the chainsaw shop about knowing me and Mike, unfortunately Mike was standing there, not even recognized.
ReplyDeleteToo many lies to refute all here. Main points should be sufficient to see it's all fiction. If "sheriff's nephew" doesn't even know town Marshall Sank Flake was never County Sheriff, how much could be "inside story"? Public record that Marlin Gillespie was Sheriff. Neither my son nor his cousins can figure out who "nephew" was, even after checking yearbook. Ken Peterson said his family never owned any property in Concho, which is 30 mi from Snowflake, not 5. Allen never lived in Concho. Established record that entire crew lived in Snowflake.
The night of the 1975 incident the crew met with lawmen at a gas station closed for the night. There has never been a Red Robin diner in Heber. The 1st Red Robin opened in 1993 - in PA. "Nephew" changed claim to Red Onion, but that first opened 20 yrs later. I most certainly DID do interviews locally and they did question townspeople and none claimed "nephew's" tale. for every UFO case big debunkers check astronomy charts and local aviation, yet never claimed AF maneuvers. Debunkers scoured this community for bad stories, yet never used "nephew's" tale, supposedly so known here. The contract was Mike's, I was an employee. The "contract motive" theory was discredited by signed affidavit by Forest Service Contracting Officer. Report by examining doctor did not describe "dirty needle marks" on my stomach and eye. He sent my blood & urine samples to medical examiner's drug screen, which showed no trace of any drug. Also, 2 of the 5 or 6 polygraph tests I passed asked about the drug claim. All 6 crew went back that night. Mike's return alone was movie fiction. Actual polygraph questions are public record, not "nephew's" version.
ReplyDeleteAlthough a skeptic, Sank will be furious to learn "nephew" is claiming he knew incident was a hoax. If Sank can figure out who "nephew" really is, he might even join me if I sue for slander.
In my book I take each debunker charge and cite independently verifiable documents and statements by experts, proving the debunker case is as much a sham as what "county sheriff's nephew" posted.
I solicited an opinion about the methods used by The Moment of Truth from world renowned polygraph expert Cleve Backster. Backster is still in practice with over 50 years experience and originated procedures adopted as the gold standard throughout the field. He has twice testified before the U.S. Congress and in landmark court cases. He has held high posts in the top polygraph organizations and presided over countless training courses for law enforcement at local, state and federal levels, including Fort Gordon, U.S.Army Counterintelligence Corps, the CIA, the U.S. Dept of Defense Polygraph School, Canadian Police College Polygraph Examiner School, and the the FBI Academy. His school, Baxter Associates said, "Moment of Truth uses a technique that was discarded years ago...a non-validated technique."
ReplyDeleteAnother top expert gave me his opinion on The Moment of Truth. Dr. David C. Raskin, a former Professor of Psychology at the University of Utah is the author of the most respected textbooks in polygraphy and published many oft-cited papers on lie detection and his refinement of the most widely accepted method in use today. In his 50+ years in the field he has been a court recognized expert in famous trials like the Howard Hughes will, Jeffrey (Fatal Vision) McDonald, serial killer Ted Bundy, the DeLorean affair, and the McMartin preschool case. He has testified before British Parliament, Israeli Kineset, and four times before the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. Senate with regard to cases like Watergate and Iran-Contra. Dr Raskin told me, "...I have always thought those TV programs are a disgrace... Any polygraph examiner who participates in such charades should not be allowed to practice. I have been asked to be the principal in such shows and I have always refused...I agree with the criticisms made by Mr. (Michael) Martin." Martin created the aforementioned THE TRUTH ABOUT THE MOMENT OF TRUTH website, www.polytest.org/momenttruth.html
ReplyDeleteThinking the show would air as scheduled, I lined up experts and national media appearances to refute the show, and took the most rigorous new polygraph tests available. So they cancelled the show, but told me I was still bound by the contract which specified a one million dollar penalty if I revealed anything about the show before it aired. I added to my book the basics about the show in a general way, and detailed the new tests without telling why I sought new tests. Now that it finally aired in South Africa, Portugal and France I am free to reveal their deceiving of TV audiences around the world. It is possible their unethical examiner deceived them about the validity of his methods, but I know they were aware of THE TRUTH ABOUT THE MOMENT OF TRUTH website (www.polytest.org/momenttruth.org
ReplyDeleteThe most rigorous testing standards available to me were to be found in NM where results are admissible in court and so are tightly regulated by state law. I took two tests from the most respected firm which does testing for New Mexico State Prison, Albuquerque Police Dept and even the United States Marshal's Service. State of the art method and modern 5 trace equipment with digital scoring and readout was used. I passed both new tests flawlessly. More details in the newest edition of my book. But skeptics will try to pretend a deceptive game show's results supercede five properly conducted tests. And the 12 other tests passed by others and all the other evidence.
In their story it was claimed they all went back together to look for him not mike by himself..my family believes in this story sorry but these type of men wouldn't make up such a silly story. This Nephew was basing things on the movie so obviously he doesn't know the actualy story...
ReplyDeleteHello and I have become friends with Travis Walton over the years, I believe Travis Walton's story. For what reason would he benefit from lying? For money please! I don't see Travis Walton living the "High Life" and rolling in money. I have been to Roswell NM many times and walked through the UFO museum. I go to AREA 51 every other month and hang out by the Black/ White mail box where there have been more UFO Sightings in the World. This stuff is real and I really feel sorry for Travis Walton having to go through the whole abduction ordeal! Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz
ReplyDeleteDear Robert,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your support of Travis. I find him a humble man, rear these days.
He is a thorn in the sides of the debunkers because of the 6 other people who witnessed the UFO attack. Hard to say they are lying if they pass polygraph tests.

Everyone keeps going over the same inconsistant crap missquotes misspellings and out of context garbage that's being rehashed over again. Sanford Flake wasn't even the sheriff of Navajo county at that time it was Marlin Gillespie, Flake was the town marshal. I wonder how many people have ever even read Waltons entire book. My opinion of the whole story is undecided-I can't make a judgement on it. There's just not enough conclusive evidence in either direction.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I heard of this story was January of 1987 when WNYW Fox 5 NY aired the documentary "UFO's are real". I've always been curious about where exactly Travis said he was abducted and where he was returned (they are two different spots).
The so-called "nephew" is probably somebody that did a lame attempt at research on the net and added a few things that he made up himself.
Dear Ben,
ReplyDeleteTravis does discuss in his presentation about the spot where he was taken. He showed that testing of certain trees near the object had been affected.
He was not put back in the same spot but he was put back near a phone. Remember there was five days of amnesia when he was abducted.
Although these articles go over the same stuff there are many who are now interested and do not know the story. These articles also bring out people who have not come forward before. I had a niece of the man who took the last polygraph test comment on what her uncle thought about the results of that test here on this blog. So stories may never end because as mush as we believe many have come forward I am sure there are many who have not.
Thanks
Joe

I can't understand why Travis even agreed to be on "The Moment of Truth" in the first place. In his book he said he would not concede to something like that and clearly explained why. I think the fact that Snowflake and the surrounding communities are so small adds strength to their story though. In order for it to be a hoax Travis would have had to have been hiding somewhere for 5 days. The places are so small and everyone knows each others business so there's just nowhere to hide.
ReplyDeleteHe kept making references to the "rim road" I'm assume he was talking about AZ highway 260 west of Heber.
I don't understand why Travis appeared on "The Moment of Truth" anyway. He said in his book that he wouldn't concede to that and clearly explained why. I think the fact that Snowflake and it's surrounding communities had such small popluation strengthens it though. In order for it to be a hoax he would have to be hiding somewhere for those 5 days. In such small places where everyone knows each others business there's nowhere to hide.
ReplyDeleteIn his book he kept making references to the "rim road" I assume he was talking about AZ highway 260 west of Heber and that he was returned at the north west entrance of Heber.
The Rim road is a rough dirt forest road that runs fairly close to the edge of the Mogollon rim. On a Sitgreves forest map it is road #300.
DeleteI know for a fact that I Michael Boland in 1990 I saw in the wooded area directly adjacent to my home in Memphis Tennessee a craft not of this world. It hovered above me for about 10 long minutes I ran inside and called a friend who lived up the street Danny Young, he was hesitant to believe me for only about a second. He could tell in my voice I meant it. He got on his ten speed and rode to the house and of course by the time he arrived it had vanished. While I thought it was over and he thought I was nuts we both heard strange movements and light flares in the wooded area we attempted to walk towards the area then as a cold chill warned us to run the other direction. I know what I saw was real and I will take a lie detector any day and pass it every time!!! This ship had a low hum to it and no lights at all on it. It just looked like a big dark dish over the well bended treeline. Not doubting the substance of Travis Walton's story at all truth or lie!
ReplyDeleteI am more inclined not to believe the story by the sheriff's nephew about Travis Walton , and I positively do not believe the same nephew went to high school .

ReplyDeleteI find it hard to take something serious when the author of this accusation doesn't even know how to spell correctly. Here's a grand idea, instead of worrying so much about an account you clearly don't agree with, go back to grammar school and retake a few classes. (:
ReplyDeleteAll UFOs or aliens or what have you are satanic in nature. I still can't believe that so many people think there is life forms visiting us from another world. This is all part of Satans Great Deception to turn people away from Jesus Christ. Many shall be deceived in the last days and it's a dam shame. Stop worrying so much about little green men and worry more about where your soul will spend eternity after your life here on earth. That should be every humans ultimate aspiration.
ReplyDeleteso you don't believe in beings for other planets but you do believe in a man in the sky's that watches over everything you do..sad
DeleteI knew a guy back in 2000 when I was in the army who was married to a girl from snowflake who pretty much told him the same thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd for someone that has lived/grown up in the area (taylor/snowflake) he would know that concho is 6 times farther away from snowflake as he claims... 30 miles... not 5...
ReplyDeleteAs for me who has met Travis. His character, at least now, indicates to me he believes what he states and if that shakes a few people's world view so be it.
ReplyDeleteThe Travis I met is humble and caring.

I was only about 4 months old when the incident was alledged to have taken place and grew up in the 1980's hearing about it about 11 years after it took place. If the story is true I often wonder what would I have done if I was in that situation, especially if I was alone with no friends/co-workers/fellow sawyers. If I saw a yellowish craft like the one depicted on the front cover of the original printing of "The Walton experience" and as featured in the video "UFO's are real" I probably would have froze like a deer caught in headlights. If it began to move towards me I would have tried to speed or run away. There's no way in hell I would have walked up to something like that ...
ReplyDeleteOne is always uneasy about such stories, especially when the principal character has effectively made a career of it. It is almost too easy to believe it is a hoax. Mr. Walton's book is almost too finely detailed, in a sense too polished, too literate and too literary, to be wholly convincing as non-fiction. And all of the principals involved now have too much at stake to qualify as objective truth-tellers. we should hear more directly from the law enforcement people who were involved, or from other individuals who, early on. were involved in investigating the story and who were persuaded as to its verity -- or at least who found it to be convincing (or unconvincing, for that matter). Mostly whatever we believe is just a matter of personal inclination.
ReplyDeleteI think you have forgotten that Travis admitted he had witnessed UFOs before and believed they were friendly. At the time that type of statement was considered "crazy talk" now we know these object were monitoring our military bases. In the famous Trent case, they had had multiple sightings that is why they had the camera ready. I would walk toward the object myself. Since I've been around the UFO community I know of people here who would and have done that.

Happystrap,
ReplyDeleteI think you need to do some reading on Travis. For ten years after the initial incident he wouldn't even grant an interview. It was than he decided to write a book. I don't see a hoaxer in this. They took polygraph test; they passed. Plus, when you meet him you kind a know this is not a hoaxer. I want to know what happened for the large chunk of time he couldn't remember? Last time I heard he refuses to go under hypnotic-therapy.

I haven't read Travis' book yet, but in the movie, the Sheriff had a difficult time believing what all the guys involved told them, and the main investigator just flat out refused to believe it, therefore bringing up all types of possibilities that could have happened instead. (Was that part true, or just added for dramatics in the film?)
ReplyDeleteIt's easier for some people to believe Travis's story is fiction, mainly because the idea of an alien abduction is too "crazy" for their minds to wrap around. Because of their mindset, of course they would've imagined and talked about all types of scenarios that could have "really" happened. It's so obvious that this debunker has heard the gossip and speculation.
With a paranormal-type event, it's safer for people to believe that Travis is telling tales because otherwise, they would have to admit we have visitors, and that, scares them mindless.
People seem more apt to believe the negative, rather than believe the facts that point to the truth. Other than those who's psyche can't handle the possibility of E.B.E. visiting Earth, I think it's a reflection of what they know their own selves are capable of doing, and in their narrow-mindedness, imagine that everyone else has the same morals and conscience as they do. They are so wrong. ;-) Just my Long-Winded 2Cents.
did travis ,have any sort of medical ,to prove what they done to him ,what about is clothes surly they could find some sort of dna
ReplyDeleteI don't believe people with bad spelling. Lmao.
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to believe an article filled with bad spelling and lousy English. Also, according to the book, he was abducted on the road that goes past Legacy lodge (not there at that time) and just across the Rim road, not down in Young.
ReplyDeleteI have read a lot about this because I live so close, (Overgaard)
Let me start by saying that I find most UFO fanatics to be just that, fanatics. They will believe most anything because they WANT to believe it. That being said, I have personally seen a UFO, as a teen, fairly up close, hovering at tree-top level, but I have still always had a hard time with the idea of aliens visiting us from another planet. However, I must admit that I have always found the Walton story to be quite interesting reguardless of how far-fetched I find the whole idea in general. I must add that some of his more recent comments about him being taken because they accidentally harmed him by far the most reasonable explanation, as once again, for the most part, I just don't buy into alien abduction stories in general....
ReplyDeleteWalton took another lie detector test in 1993 and passed. So that is at least 8 passed tests between 6 people. Also, each of the witnesses continue to have trama due to the experience. The problem here is the miopic organized religion followers that can't see a forest beyond a tree.
ReplyDeleteit amazes me that it took the sherrif's family member so long to respond.... why not him. no evidence was ever found that they lied and as for the government and air force involvement well that speaks for itself... area 51- anyone-oh that's right they never lie or cover any thing up- NEVER!!!!! we're not freaks and unless u were there you only have an opinion and nothing else. it doesn't add up to a hoax by any means... the ridicule and stupid personal attacks like these strengthen the case... what did they gain- really? censure, ridicule and disbelief? wow! sign me up and a side order of family discord, too wonderful!!!
ReplyDeletei hope the sheriff and that deputy get taken next... maybe that'll be enough to give them proof... as for this version of events... its too ridiculous... how did the sheriff not uncover all this back then- lack of skill?sounds to me like they were drinking- hows it feel to not be believed?
I don't know if you watch Paranormal Witness but they went back to the Travis Walton case and interviewed the main players. You need to watch that episode. If any of you out there believe TW hoaxed it you are mistaken. Even the Sheriff now can't explain what happened and doesn't believe the hoax theory anymore. This was just on TV it was shocking to see what really happened to him how he still breaks down and cries when he concentrates on his memory of being on the ship.
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing that I know anyone who call TW a hoaxer is just full of BS. Something extraordinary happened to the whole group and I can't explain any way other than way than..I am going to say it...so all you Alien Phobics cover your eyes Don't look....Little green men from another Planet.

You say your uncle was deputy sherrif at the time but records say he was town Marshall and wasn't brought in til after Walton was back. Also says your uncle didn't like the Walton's either. If Travis Walton was hiding getting high the. 5 days why didn't blood work show drugs in his system? I believe the Dallas you speak of is Allen Dalis wouldn't you know how to spell his name if you knew the facts about this. Things in your story don't add up but those seven men tell the same story they told on that night.
ReplyDeleteCan't even consider believing a word you say since you can't even spell. My god it was like reading something a 4th grader would write. Why don't you spend less time trying to convince people of something that you clearly have no background or education of and worry about your own life. If it did happen then so be it, if it didn't why does it concern you so much. What's done is done. I for one believe it. If we are the only 'intelligent' people in the universe god help us because we can't even spell!! Yikes.
ReplyDeleteExactly!! This imbecile is just trying to get his 5 minutes of fame. I don't know how a supposed high school graduate could spell worse than my twelve year old.
DeleteI too saw Paranormal Witness. None of the men to me seemed like they were lying. Cool show.
ReplyDeleteOkay, the real dishonesty here is that this Sheriff's Nephew is purporting to have been school educated!
ReplyDeleteI am fairly forgiving of some typos, but this person is... stupid. I would say mentally handicapped, but I have worked with the mentally handicapped, and they exhibit more intelligence.
Go back to school and stop embarrassing yourself and other English speaking people!
All I've got to say is I believe. People need to open and expand their minds. In this vast and huge universe, what makes anyone think we're alone? I too watched Mr. Walton's story on Paranormal Witness and seen the movie 'Fire In The Sky'. And I stand behind him and the other gentlemen in their accounts of the events that took place on that night in November, 1975. As for 'Sheriff's Nephew'...go back to school. Your whole story has too many discrepancies and unsupported claims.
ReplyDeleteOMG ..please at the very least use spell check....you look like a moron..And I am a believer, with or without your help...lol
DeleteThis story was on Paranormal Witness and it had the Sheriff at that time plus the Lie Detector guy who both say these guys came off telling the truth. Your uncle the sheriff didn't say anything about the Air Force and their testing. Please explain that
ReplyDeleteAll I want to say is that, I dont know if Travis walton is lieing or not... i guess the only people that can honestly say he is not lieing is him. But i think about the topic of aliens quite frequently and why couldnt they come to earth to abduct somebody. Expand your mind a little bit, it could happen...
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing, i saw this show paranormal witness about waltons encounter my point is, none of those men on that show seemed like they where lying. They were very sincere and honest, one man on that show showed real emotion and they all stood behind that story and appeared to get shaken up even talking about it... Now, i am the biggest skeptic ever about this and i really dont want to believe this but i dont know. Anyway as I was saying, I dont know about you but when something really scares me and I get shaken up, I DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT, You could be offering me one billion dollars, I wouldnt talk...
ReplyDeleteWell I for one totally believe Travis and I think the Americsn/British governments have known for many years that we are visited by extra terrestrials. Very very scary what happened to Travis.
ReplyDeleteBelieve what you want, but were you there? BTW, I'm speaking to the author. I love how folks are so quick to judge others who have had or thought they've had experiences beyond they're comprehension. Can this kid disprove these events? Does he have the evidence? The answer is no. Was travis abducted? Who can say for sure? Either they have fooled the world with a story that has yet to be debunked, or they experienced something that would change every aspect of our lives. The world would never be the same. Yet there's people like this kid. Who is trying to blast these guys on the net and can't even put a sentence together. If you are adamant about not believing what happened, fine. Why not provide an educated non-biased account of objective facts. How do you know anyone "passed out from drinking after work"? Subjective statements with no real merit will not help your cause. Your description of Travis and his co-workers is exactly how I picture you. A lying thieving drunk who just wants attention. The previous postings seem to verify what I'm saying. That's what you could call an objective fact kid.

ReplyDeleteThere are even people that swear on there on mothers lives that bigfoot is real but it Aint.
ReplyDeleteThey write well and are convincing, What kind of education did Travis have? Or is he like his debunker, a bit stupid and cant spell so must be an idiot who makes up stories..
Thats all ufo freaks
I have no problem some one thinking it is all crap. But if anyone wants to debate it's all crap they have to explain how the seven "UFO Freaks" could have beaten multiple polygraph test. They have to explain the evidence which surfaced by way of the Freedon of Information Act released documents that the US Air force had been tracking "Unknowns" all during that time in the same area by radar. I'm sorry for people who call names but do not look at facts. People who live by knowing instead of learning find it almost impossible to change...even when they are wrong.

The author of this blog is WORTHLESS. I love the fact that he lives in bondage...mentally. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI for one am very open minded as I don't and won't ever believe that we are the only living people or creatures in this huge universe that we live in. Whether this man was abducted no one will ever know but him! Onlyhe will die with the truth inside, maybe it is lies but then maybe something did happen. The fact he claimed there were other people in that 'ship' but that there eyes were different then surely they were also ' missing' I thought by now he would have identified what these people looked like and who they were!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying I fully believe what happened that night and I'm not saying it wasn't true as only Travis and his work colleagues will ever know what truly happened. But for some punk kid who went to school with his son Clifton and possibly related to the sheriff that was involved in the case to right a version of what he believes on Google is pathetic as how would you Joseph capp truly know? Was you present that night? Was you born? I believe what Joseph has written is Proberly the views of the actual sheriff. Either that or he was one of these jealous kids in school and daint like the attention Clifton was getting. Unless you have solid proof Joseph you should not comment on situations touch wernt involved in. Idiot.

Crazy, I actually read the entire account written by the "sherrif's nephew". Apparently, the Snowflake school system sucks. I thought a 3rd grader wrote it. It's hard to take someone so uneducated seriously.

Travis Walton speech and demeanor rings genuine... This story by the "Sheriff's Nephew" reeks of hear-say bullshit
ReplyDeletei have always said that travis walton was full of crap. if you keep perpetuating what you want to believe as a true story, sooner or later, after enough talking, you will get people to actually believe that your story is true. he hasn't one shred of evidence to prove anything. he would never win a court case on this.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI think your right. But not for the reason you think. As far as evidence you're wrong. But you know that, otherwise you would have pointed out exactly where the evidence presented was wrong. You didn't because making pronouncements is a lazy persons answer. I read them all over You Tube. They and you are a joke we laugh at all the time in the UFO community.

There's no way to prove it didn't happen. Skeptics are the same type of people who believe everything that's in a government issued school text book and cannot think outside the box. FACT: between archaeologist and historians new physical evidence has emerged that proves Europeans have been to North America pre-viking times and after. Arm chair skeptics cannot accept this fact because it is not covered in government issued text books or are too bone headed to be capable of thinking outside the box. They consider themselves intellectuals and too smart to believe in anything outside the norm they are used to. More or less they are FTARDs because they are not as smart as they think they are.
ReplyDeletePoint is, things exist that humans cannot explain nor can the human brain comprehend all there is in the universe let alone on our own planet, FACT.

Sherrif’s nephew claims Travis Walton Hoax well known..... but you still cant prove it, just like Travis Walton cant prove he was abducted. You only have other peoples words and Travis just has his own.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteOf course you are right. but that is the nature of the UFO phenomenon today. Travis is a case that has not been proven or debunked for that matter. I am not a scientist nor do I claim to be one. Travis has never been debunked as a hoax. One thing pretty well proven is that all saw an object hovering in a clearing on the way home from work and Travis seemed to go missing for 5 days.
In the years that have followed Travis and the grew saw something that they have not been able to explain nor has anyone else.

I have never believed his story, although, if I did, I'd be terrified. As a child, I was terrified. But let's be real for a moment. How many 'abductions' have ever taken place? Millions...and millions of people. All over the world!!! And yet, we get less than a handful of stories. That alone makes me incredibly skeptical as to the truth of 'abductions'. Secondly, how hard is it to make up a story? People here put all their faith in a story. I could make up a story like that if I wanted. Really, its not that difficult. I could manipulate facts in such a way as to pass a lie detector test. I will never understand people...
ReplyDeleteI still believe it happened as they say it did and especially because this particular blog is so poorly written it is the unbelievable one.
